Triple Creek Ranch lies among ponderosa pines in the Bitterroot Mountains of western Montana, near the small town of Darby, and it is built for adults: guests must be 16 or over. Guests stay in 25 private log and cedar cabins, each with a wood-burning fireplace, a king bed and a hot tub of its own or close by, and fresh cookies arrive every day. Stays include meals, house wines and spirits and many of the activities on the ranch, so once you arrive there is little to arrange. The restaurant cooks with produce from the valley and further afield. What you do depends on the season. The warmer months bring fly-fishing on the ranch's trout streams, horseback rides and cattle drives, mountain biking, tennis and swimming, as well as guided off-road trips. Winter turns to downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, guided snowmobile outings and winter rides, followed by long evenings by the fire. Helicopter tours over the Bitterroot range can be arranged. The ranch belongs to Relais & Châteaux.
