Patios de Cafayate Wine Hotel stands in the historic estate of a winery founded in 1892, now Bodega El Esteco, where National Route 40 meets Route 68, about two kilometres from the main square of Cafayate in the Calchaquí Valleys. It describes itself as an authentic Salta hotel, and the house, the patios and the vineyards share one estate with the bodega. Each room has its own style, drawn from the origins of the estate, with large beds and generous bathrooms; some open onto the Patio de Jazmines. Every afternoon guests are poured a glass of the house Torrontés in the lobby, the patios or the gardens. The restaurant is run by Chef Virginia Marín, who was born in Cafayate, and her team, who cook contemporary regional dishes from the north of Argentina to match a tasting menu with El Esteco wines, made a few metres away; guests can also tour the winery. There is an outdoor pool among the gardens, a massage room, a games and reading room, and the historic Barrel Courtyard, which is also used for weddings and events.
