Nobu Hotel Chicago

  • Virtuoso
  • Best time: Late spring to early autumn for the rooftop
The Chicago skyline across Lake Michigan at dusk.

Nobu Hotel Chicago opened on July 1, 2020, in the West Loop above Randolph Street's Restaurant Row: an 11-storey building designed by Studio K for the brand that began as a restaurant partnership between Robert De Niro and the chef Nobu Matsuhisa. The 115 rooms are calm and modern with a post-industrial edge, the suites have cedar tubs, and every room has its own yoga mat. For families or friends gathering for an occasion, the Nobu Villas have one bedroom across 1,484 square feet, or two bedrooms, each with a king bed, across 1,864. The signature restaurant fills the ground floor, with a sushi bar on the mezzanine and a Rooftop 11 floors up, currently open from Thursday to Saturday. For wellness there are steam rooms and the underground Tranquility Pool. Celebrations are well catered for: the Kawa event space seats up to 160 for a banquet, and the hotel arranges celebration and romantic packages. There is no kids' club, so it suits celebrations and families with older children. The hotel received One MICHELIN Key in 2024 and remains in the MICHELIN Guide.
