Rosewood Munich opened in October 2023 in two landmark buildings in the old town: the former headquarters of the Bavarian State Bank and the neighbouring Palais Neuhaus-Preysing, once an aristocratic residence. The original façades and grand staircases are preserved, and inside the style is contemporary classic, calm and generous. Marienplatz, the Residenz, the Bavarian State Opera and the shops of Maximilianstrasse and Theatinerstrasse are all within walking distance, and the chimes of the town hall Glockenspiel carry to the door. The 132 rooms, suites and houses are among the most spacious in the city, with made-to-order furniture and marble bathrooms, and some suites are planned for families. Brasserie Cuvilliés cooks modern Alpine food from an open kitchen, Bar Montez has live jazz every day, the Wintergarten serves afternoon tea in daylight, and the Schanigarten takes the sunny corner outside. Asaya Spa has six treatment rooms, an indoor pool, a Finnish sauna and a fitness area. A gallery on the staircase and seasonal programmes for Oktoberfest and the festive weeks keep the house lively through the year.
