La Casa de la Playa opened on December 13, 2021, created by Grupo Xcaret as an adults-only, all-inclusive retreat on the Riviera Maya. The architect David Quintana conceived it as a living sculpture in exposed concrete, stone and wood, and its 63 suites each have a private pool and butler service, with Huichol art in the rooms and staff uniforms by the designer Carla Fernández. The dining is the headline. Tuch de Luna is led by chef Martha Ortiz, XAL by Andoni Luis Aduriz of Mugaritz, and Lumbre and Centli by the Rivera-Río brothers, and guests may also eat across more than 20 restaurants at the neighbouring Xcaret hotels, some of them recognised by the MICHELIN Guide. The Muluk Spa has 13 treatment cabins and salt and mud rooms. Stays include private experiences and entry to Xcaret's parks. Recognition came quickly, with a Forbes Five-Star rating and a top ranking among Mexico's resorts in Travel + Leisure's 2025 awards. January and February usually avoid sargassum and hurricane season, and November is a good alternative.
