Hôtel Royal opened in 1909 above Lake Geneva, designed by Albert Hébrard, with a suite set aside for Edward VII, who died the following year without visiting. Its 47-acre grounds hold beehives and bird sanctuaries, and the Art Nouveau frescoes of Gustave Jaulmes decorate Les Fresques, which holds a one-MICHELIN-star rating and draws on a 3,000-square-metre kitchen garden. Few grand hotels take children so seriously. The Kid's Resort covers some 1,000 square metres, with a Baby Club from four months, a Kid's Club from three years and a Teen's Club for 10 to 17; the last two are free for hotel guests and open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. all year, with ski, tennis, golf and swimming camps and birthday parties besides. Bonpoint offers parent-and-child spa treatments from the age of five. For celebrations, the Evian Lounge takes up to 200 guests, with a terrace over the lake. The hotel hosted the G8 in 2003 and the G7 in 2026. There are 150 rooms and suites, 32 of them suites, and the hotel holds one MICHELIN Key.
