Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina stands in Zona G, the Bogotá neighbourhood known for its restaurants. The original house was designed by the Colombian artist and architect Santiago Medina Mejía and finished in 1946, and it has been declared a monument of cultural interest. It was later extended and fully restored, and it keeps its dark beamed ceilings, a spiral staircase and stained-glass windows, with wrought-iron lights, leather armchairs and a collection of modern art. There are 54 rooms and suites, and no two are the same. Some have fireplaces, and others have balconies or colonial detailing. The restaurant takes a Mediterranean line, and the bar sits under a glass atrium with tiled floors, close to a courtyard fireplace. There is a spa with treatments that draw on Colombian ingredients such as cacao, a gym and a garden. From the door, the restaurants of Zona G are a short walk, and the historic centre and its museums are a short drive.
