Capofaro stands on Salina, which the resort calls the green pearl of the Aeolian Islands, between the island's lighthouse and the village of Malfa, among four and a half hectares of Malvasia vines, with Panarea and Stromboli on the horizon. The lighthouse dates from the middle of the 19th century, and the keeper's house beside it now holds five of the rooms; the rest are spread through the estate, 25 in all across nine categories, from Classic and Superior rooms to Suite 21, the Suite Anfiteatro, the Suite Faro and the Grand Suite Faro. The Licitra family have owned the resort since November 2024. Chef Matteo Manco's cooking brings together the traditions of Salento and Sicily, using the estate garden and the island's fishermen, and there is a pool, a bar, an open-air gym, yoga, massages and tastings of the estate's wine. Getting there is part of the trip: the usual route is a flight to Catania, about two hours by road to Milazzo, then a hydrofoil to Santa Marina, Salina's port, with a summer hydrofoil from Palermo and a seasonal daily one from Naples. Helicopter and private boat transfers can also be arranged.
