Rumours is a small collection of private villas on Muri Lagoon, on the south-east side of Rarotonga, and it has been taking guests since 2005. It is for adults only, and it is built for privacy and romance: each villa sits behind a gated courtyard with its own swimming pool, tropical gardens and water features, a few steps from the edge of the lagoon. The Platinum Villa is the largest, with two bedrooms, a spa pool, a home theatre, waterfalls flowing off rocks into the pool on either side of the entrance bridge, and direct access to the lagoon. The Beachfront Villas have two bedrooms with four-poster canopied beds, a private pool and a spa pool on the water, and two Beachside Villas sit just behind the beach, the larger with no sea view, the smaller with a glimpse of the lagoon. Breakfast is delivered to the villa each morning, island platters can be ordered, and the team books tables at restaurants nearby. Return airport transfers with a welcome ei of fresh flowers are included. The Waterfall Spa at sister property Reflections is close at hand, and the lagoon is there for snorkelling and kayaking.
