Mandarin Oriental, Singapore opened in 1987 as The Oriental Singapore, its fan-shaped atrium designed by John Portman with theatre in mind, and reopened on September 8, 2023, after a six-month transformation. The new interiors, by Jeffrey Wilkes of DESIGNWILKES, draw on Peranakan architecture, the city's black-and-white colonial houses and its angsana trees. Of the 510 rooms, 42 are suites and 45 are residential suites, and HAUS 65, a club lounge on the 21st floor created with Mandala Club, gives its guests a private address within the hotel. Cherry Garden by Chef Fei holds a one-MICHELIN-star rating, and Zuicho, Dolce Vita, embu, MO BAR and The Mandarin Cake Shop complete the dining. A 25-metre outdoor pool with five cabanas looks towards Marina Bay, and the spa's six treatment rooms, two of them for couples, offer therapies rooted in Chinese tradition. The hotel sits beside the Formula One street circuit, and the Singapore Grand Prix runs from October 9 to 11, 2026. February is the driest month of the year. The hotel holds one MICHELIN Key.
