Le Taha'a, part of Pearl Resorts, lies on the private islet of Motu Tautau off Taha'a, the island known as the Vanilla Island, looking across the lagoon to the Taha'a shore and Bora Bora. It has 59 suites and villas, among them two royal villas, and each opens directly onto the lagoon or the beach: Overwater Suites stand on stilts above the water, and the Pool Beach Villas and Royal Pool Beach Villas have their own pools on the sand. There are three restaurants, Hawaiki Nui, Titiraina and Tipairua, with the Manuia Bar, a Tiki Bar and an ice cream parlour. The Tāvai Spa faces an inner lagoon of water lilies and lotus flowers and offers Polynesian massage, body scrubs and baths. The coral garden at the edge of the islet is the great draw: guests drift on the current from a small reef into water full of fish, and snorkelling there is free, as is paddleboarding around the resort. Excursions visit a vanilla plantation and a pearl farm, and the UNESCO-listed marae of Taputapuatea is on neighbouring Raiatea, whose airport is about 16 kilometres away.
