Kokomo Private Island covers 140 acres on the Great Astrolabe Reef in Fiji's Kadavu group, created by the late Lang Walker AO, who found the abandoned frame of an earlier resort and built something entirely his own. There are just 26 places to stay: 21 Beachfront Villas, each with its own infinity pool, and five hilltop Residences. It is one of the most generous family resorts anywhere. The Kaji Kids Club, for children of three to 11, and the Teens Club are included and open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a glass-bottom boat, cooking classes and film nights; villa guests have nanny care for children under four from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Residences come with their own nanny. The Family Sunrise and Family Sunset villas have three bedrooms and sleep six. All meals are included, drawn in part from a farm of 5.5 acres, across the Beach Shack, Walker D'Plank for Asian street food and Kokocabana for Mediterranean cooking, and the Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary completes the island. Celebrations can be as small as a picnic on Namara island or as large as a wedding, and superyachts of up to 60 metres can come in.
