Chenot Palace Weggis

  • Virtuoso
  • Open year-round; May to Sep for the lake
Lake Lucerne between steep wooded mountains, with snow peaks beyond.

Chenot Palace Weggis opened on June 11, 2020, on the shore of Lake Lucerne, with a private beach and views of Mount Rigi. The Swiss architect Davide Macullo designed it across a 20,000-square-metre site, pairing a historic lakeside building with a new all-timber wing for the medical and spa centre, which covers 5,000 square metres. It is the flagship of the Chenot Method, which Henri Chenot began in Cannes in 1974, blending traditional Chinese medicine with Western science. This is a clinic in the clothes of a grand hotel. Only guests on a programme are admitted, the minimum stay is seven nights, and everyone follows the Chenot Diet. The Advanced Detox includes 36 diagnostics, hydro-aromatherapy with plant extracts, microalgae mud wraps and high-pressure showers, with meals at 850 calories a day, a fast with food. Recover & Energise and Prevention & Ageing Well are the other seven-night paths. Guests aged 16 to 18 come with a parent or guardian, and check-in is any day from 3:00 p.m. There are 97 rooms and suites.

Insider tip Diagnostics can include a food-intolerance test, a heavy-metal analysis and a bio-energetic check-up, so guests leave with data as well as a glow.

Why I choose it The most rigorous detox we know of: seven nights, 36 diagnostics and a set diet, on Lake Lucerne.
