andBeyond Sandibe & Nxabega Under Canvas

  • Virtuoso
  • Best time: May to Oct
The bow of a wooden mokoro in a narrow channel lined with reeds and water lilies.

Opened in March 2026, andBeyond Sandibe Under Canvas and andBeyond Nxabega Under Canvas bring the closeness of a small canvas camp to two of the company's private Okavango concessions: Sandibe, at 22,500 hectares, and Nxabega, at 25,000 hectares, both bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Each camp has just three tents, for no more than six guests. The tents are 29 square metres and sleep two, with running water. Each camp runs on its own solar power, with solar lamps and plug points in the tents and Starlink Wi-Fi, a first for andBeyond in Botswana. The camps are meant to be combined. Sandibe Under Canvas is land-based and focused on predators; Nxabega Under Canvas adds the water, with mokoro trips and fishing in season. Days bring twice-daily game drives with no more than six guests to a vehicle, walking safaris, evenings under the night sky and a visit to Sexaxa village, supported by Wild Impact. Meals are cooked over open fires. With andBeyond Chobe Under Canvas, the two camps form a seven-night circuit through northern Botswana.

Nearest airport
Maun Airport (MUB), 37 to 53 Miles / 59 to 86 Kilometres
Rooms
Two camps of three tents each, six guests per camp

Insider tip Do both: Sandibe Under Canvas for predators on land, then Nxabega Under Canvas for mokoro and fishing, which run only there and only in season.

Why I choose it The most intimate way into andBeyond's Delta concessions, at a gentler price than the lodges. Guests must be 12 or over, and there is no spa.
