An aerial view of villas scattered through forested hills around a lake, with the sea on the horizon.

Amanoi, the first Aman in Vietnam, sits on a hillside above Vinh Hy Bay within Nui Chua National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve on the south-central coast; its name joins a Sanskrit-derived word for peace with the Vietnamese noi, meaning place. Some 225 acres of forest and rocky outcrops are left as they were, and the architecture pairs Aman's spare modern style with local design. A broad stair climbs to the Central Pavilion, modelled on a traditional Vietnamese communal hall, where the clifftop restaurant, bar and terrace look across the bay beside the Cliff Pool. Pavilions and villas open onto wooden terraces, many with pools, and ocean-view residences of up to five bedrooms add living and dining pavilions and large infinity pools. The Aman Spa stands on a lotus lake, with double treatment rooms, hydrotherapy suites, a floating yoga pavilion, a Pilates studio, a gym and two Wellness Pool Villas, each with a private hammam or banya. Vietnamese cooking from the market and the day's catch leads the menus at the Restaurant and the Beach Club, on a private beach where motorised craft are barred and kayaking and snorkelling take over.
