Arenal Volcano above the rainforest, its summit in cloud.

Nayara Springs sits in the rainforest at La Fortuna, facing Arenal Volcano in central Costa Rica, as the adults-only part of a Nayara complex that also includes Nayara Gardens and Nayara Tented Camp. Every villa has a plunge pool fed by natural mineral hot springs from the volcano, a private garden with twin rain showers, a large bathroom, a four-poster bed and sitting areas inside and out, and each comes with its own host. The grounds, replanted with native species, now hold sloths and howler monkeys. Naturalists lead dawn bird walks and night walks to find red-eyed tree frogs and glass frogs in the ponds, and two hanging bridges cross the canopy. Amor Loco serves an adults-only tasting menu of small plates that tells Costa Rica's story through its produce, Mis Amores is a Northern Italian bistro with the volcano in view from every table, and guests may eat across the whole complex. The open-air spa is set in pockets of forest and uses local coffee, chocolate and volcanic mud, and private guides arrange hikes, rafting and river trips. It is a Relais & Châteaux member with the government's Four Leaves sustainability award. There are 35 villas.
