Some of the best weeks of a year are fixed long before anyone books them. These are the dates in 2027 worth planning a journey around, and the earlier we start, the more choice there is.
Every date below is the organiser's own, checked on October 18, 2026. Where a date has not been announced yet, it is under Seasons and dates to come, as the usual time of year.
January
- January 22 to 24: Snow Polo World Cup, St Moritz, Switzerland.
February
- February 6, 7 and 13: White Turf, horse racing on the frozen lake, St Moritz, Switzerland.
- February 7 to 9: Rio Carnival, the Sambadrome parades, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Champions' Parade follows on February 13.
- Ends Tuesday, February 9: Carnevale di Venezia, Venice, Italy. Carnival ends on Shrove Tuesday; the full programme is not yet published.
March
- March 25 to 27: Art Basel Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
April
- April 5 to 11: The Masters, Augusta, Georgia, U.S. The tournament rounds are the last four days.
- April 30 and May 1: The Kentucky Oaks and the 153rd Kentucky Derby, Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.

- May 8 to November 21: The Venice Architecture Biennale, Venice, Italy. 2027 is an architecture year; the art Biennale is in even years.
- May 11 to 22: The 80th Cannes Film Festival, Cannes, France.

- July 16 to August 29: The Salzburg Festival, Salzburg, Austria.
- July 25 to August 24: The Bayreuth Festival, Bayreuth, Germany. Tickets are limited to four per performance.
August
- Monday, August 2: A total solar eclipse, Spain, Morocco, Egypt and beyond. Totality lasts up to six minutes 23 seconds, near Luxor.
September
- September 17 to 19: The Ryder Cup, Adare Manor, County Limerick, Ireland. The week runs from September 13.
- September 18 to October 3: Oktoberfest, Munich, Germany.
- September 22 to 25: The Monaco Yacht Show, Monaco.
October
- October 1 to November 13: The Rugby World Cup, Australia. The final is in Sydney.
- October 2 to November 21: The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The final is in Johannesburg.
- October 8 to 10: The Singapore Grand Prix, Singapore.
November
- November 18 to 20: The Las Vegas Grand Prix, Las Vegas, U.S.
