La Dolce Vita Orient Express made its first journey on April 4, 2025, from Rome to Montalcino, bringing the Orient Express name to Italy in the spirit of the country's golden age. Arsenale developed it with FS Treni Turistici Italiani, and Milan's Dimorestudio designed the interiors, which borrow the colour, pattern and glamour of the 1960s and 1970s. There are 31 cabins: 12 Deluxe Cabins, 18 Suites and a single La Dolce Vita Suite. Menus are created under the culinary direction of three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck. Journeys start at Roma Ostiense, where the La Dolce Vita Lounge, designed by Hugo Toro, receives guests before boarding, and run from a nine-hour day trip to Venice to five days and four nights on board. Routes now cover much of Italy, from Venice and Portofino to Matera, Taormina and Palermo, with some extending as far as Istanbul. The calendar continues through winter, Carnival departures included, and bookings are open into 2029. It is Italy at the pace of a long lunch.
