01

Days 1 to 2 · one night

Aix-en-Provence

Meet in Aix and walk the old shepherds' paths through the hills. Back at the estate, a private tour on foot or by electric car of Château La Coste's art and architecture walk, more than 40 works across four kilometres of hills, olive groves and vines, by Tadao Ando, Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano, Louise Bourgeois and others, then a private tasting of the estate's organic and biodynamic wines.

Where you stay

Villa La Coste

Villa La Coste has 31 villa suites on the Château La Coste estate, 200 hectares of organic vines, art and architecture between Aix-en-Provence and the Luberon. Each suite opens onto a terrace over the vineyards and valley, some with private pools, and chef Florent Pietravalle oversees four restaurants, Louison among them.

Days 2 to 4 · two nights

Cassis

Down to the coast for a walk through the vineyards of Cassis, among the first French appellations in 1936, a boat into the calanques to swim in coves only reached by water, and a dinner of the day's catch. The concierge can make that boat a traditional Marseille pointu, and arrange a morning in the Calanques National Park aboard the fishing boat of Rémi, a Cassis fisherman.

Where you stay

Les Roches Blanches

Les Roches Blanches was built as a private house in 1887 and became a hotel in the early 1920s, set between the village of Cassis and the calanques and facing the cliffs of Cap Canaille. There are two swimming pools, access to the sea, a Sisley spa and three restaurants.

Days 4 to 6 · two nights

Ramatuelle

Along the coast to the Saint-Tropez peninsula. A walk from village to village up to Ramatuelle, an afternoon in Saint-Tropez with a game of pétanque, and a last coastal walk past lighthouses and beaches. La Réserve can arrange a ride through forest and vineyard that ends with a swim on horseback, or a boat to Porquerolles for the Carmignac Foundation.

Where you stay

La Réserve Ramatuelle

La Réserve Ramatuelle is a private domain in the garrigue above one of the bays of the Saint-Tropez peninsula, a few minutes from the village, with rooms, suites and villas looking out to sea. Eric Canino cooks at La Voile, and the hotel's beach club, La Réserve à la Plage, is on Pampelonne.

Ways to make it yours

  1. A night longer at Ramatuelle at the end, with a boat to Porquerolles or the Lérins Islands.
  2. A day among the hill villages of the Luberon.
  3. A night in Monaco at the end, for the wine cellar of the Hôtel de Paris, built in 1874 and holding more than 300,000 bottles, which can be opened for your party alone, with a wine expert and a tasting of four rare wines.

This is a sample. The hotels, the pace and the order are where we start, not where we finish: every journey is designed around the people taking it.

Made around you

Most travel is bought. This is designed.

Before anything is booked, we talk: who is travelling, how you like to spend a morning, and the hotel preferences below the obvious, from the kind of bath you like to the time you wake and how much daylight you need in a room. You see options where options matter and clean recommendations where they don't.

The same person remains your point of contact from the first reply to the trip after next. No handovers. No team.
